Structural Condition <br /> The structure must be in need of repairs or im- <br /> provements . <br /> B. ELIGIBLE WORK ITEMS <br /> 1 . The following are among the types of exterior <br /> improvements eligible for grants : <br /> a. Window/door repair or appropriate replace- <br /> ment work. <br /> b. Storefront rehabilitation, including <br /> removal of non-original siding. <br /> c. Cleaning or painting of exterior surfaces . <br /> (NOTE: NO SANDBLASTING WILL BE ALLOWED. ) <br /> d. Repair or restoration of architectural <br /> detailing. <br /> e. Awnings . <br /> f . Signs . <br /> g. Architectural fees, up to l00 of the grant <br /> amount . <br /> 2 . Al1 proposed exterior improvements must be ap- <br /> proved by the Illinois Historic Preservation <br /> Agency. Approval is based upon conformance with <br /> the Secretary of Interior' s Standards for <br /> Rehabilitation and Guidelines for Rehabilitatina <br /> Historic Buildinqs . Copies of the Secretary of <br /> Interior' s Standards are available from HASC, <br /> c/o Department of Community Development, #1 Gary <br /> K.
