, � � <br /> Transportation Administration shall be deemed a reference to the Federal Transit <br /> Administration. <br /> g. Federal Transit Administrator is the statutory designation for the Urban Mass Transportation <br /> Administrator, 49 U.S.C. app. § 1601 note. Any reference in any ]a���, map, regulation, <br /> document, paper, or other record of the United States to the Urban Mass Transportation <br /> Administrator shall be deemed a reference to the Federal Transit Administrator. <br /> h. FTA is the acronym for the Federal Transit Administration of the U.S. Department of <br /> Transportation (U.S. DOT). FTA replaces the acronym "UMTA." <br /> i. FTA Directive includes FTA circulars, notices, or orders pro��iding anformation about FTA's <br /> programs, application processing procedures, and project management guidance. In addition to <br /> F'TA directi��es, certain U.S. DOT directives also apply to the Project. <br /> j. Go��ernment means the United States of America and any executi��e department or agency <br /> thereof. <br /> k. ;�1ass Transportation means transportation by bus, rail, or other conveyance, either publicly or <br /> pri��ately o«�ned, that pro��ides general or special transportation service (but not school bus, <br /> charter or si�htseeing ser��ice) to the public on a regular and continuing basis. The term "mass <br /> transportation" also includes "transit" and "public transportation." <br /> 1. Project means the task or set of tasks set forth in the Approved Project Budget, which the <br /> Recipient carries out pursuant to this Agreement. In the case of financial assistance under <br /> sections 9, 16, or l8 of the Federal Transit Act, as amended, the term "Project" encompasses <br /> both "Program" and "each Project ���ithin the Program," as the context may require, to effectuate <br /> the particular requirements of this Agreement. <br /> m. Recipient means any entity that receives Federal assistance directly from FTA for the <br /> accomplishment of the Project. The term "Grant Recipient" means "Grantee." <br /> n. Secretar�� means the U.S. DOT Secretary, including his or her duly authorized designee. <br /> o. Subrecipient means any entity that receives FTA assistance from an FTA recipient, rather <br /> than from FTA directly. The term "subrecipient" also includes the term "subgrantee," but does <br /> not include "third party contractor." <br /> p. U.S. DOT is the acronym for the U.S. Department of Transportation including its operating <br /> administrations. <br /> Section 102. Accomplishment of the Pro'�ect. <br /> a. General Requirements. The Recipient agrees to carry out the Project in accordance ���ith the <br /> terms of this Agreement, the Application, Appro��ed Project Budget, Project or Program <br /> schedules, and all applicable la���s, regulations, FTA directi��es, and published policies.
