i. Review and check all reports by testing laboratories on <br /> equipment and material tested. <br /> 2 . Resident Inspection - Provide detailed Resident Inspection <br /> Services, during construction of the proposed improvements, <br /> including but not limited to the following: <br /> a. Establish lines and grades and direct the layout of all '�, <br /> work on the ground as construction proceeds. I <br /> b. Provide continuous inspection of the work for compli- � <br /> ance with plans and specifications. Such inspection <br /> shall include those services which are customarily <br /> referred to as detailed resident inspection services <br /> provided that the ENGINEER shall not be responsible for <br /> the acts or omissions of any contractor(s) , any sub- <br /> contractor(s) or any of the contractor(s) ' or subcon- <br /> tractor(s) ' agents or employees or any other person <br /> (except his own employees and agents) at the project <br /> site or for the supervision, direction, control and <br /> work safety of any contractor(s) or for the construc- <br /> tion means, methods, techniques, sequences, or proce- <br /> dures or for safety precautions or programs incidental <br /> to the work of contractor(s) or for any contractor(s) � <br /> ' failure to perform the construction work in accordance <br /> with contract documents. <br /> c. Keep a daily record or log of the contractor's activi- <br /> ties throughout construction including notations on the <br /> nature and cost of any extra work. <br /> d. Supervise all inspectors, proportioning engineers and <br /> other technical personnel assigned to the project. <br /> e. Review and check all payment estimates, change orders, <br /> records, and reports pertaining to the construction ac- <br /> tivities. <br /> 3 . The ENGINEER shall procure and maintain, at its expense, <br /> insurance of the types and in the minimum amounts stated <br /> below: <br /> a. Workman's Compensation Insurance in full compliance <br /> with the Workman's Compensation Act and Employers Lia- <br /> bility coverage of not less than as defined by Illinois <br /> State Statutes. <br /> b. Comprehensive General Liability <br /> Bodily Injury, $250, 000/500, 000 each occurrence <br /> Property Damage, $250, 000 each occurrence or <br /> $500, 000 Single Limit Liability <br /> BGM 93028A -2- <br />
