No. 93-51 be recommended to City Council for approval. Motion carried unanimously. Cal. No. 93-52 Final Plat - Spring Creek Estates Mr. Phillip Cochran, Consulting Engineer, was present and spoke for the petition stating that the preliminary plat was approved by City Council in July of this year. This will be a 30 lot subdivision. While it is not shown, the developer has agreed to construct a sidewalk from the south end of the cul-de-sac to the south property line. There were no objectors present. Mr. McQueen stated that staff recommends approval of the petition with the additional sidewalk as noted by petitioner. • It was moved and seconded (Coulter/Gruenewald) that Cal. No. 93-52 be recommended to City Council for approval per staff recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. Cal. No. 93-53 Petition of VLTLCAN MATERIALS COMPANY to amend and expand a special use permit granted by Ordinance #5991 and subsequently amended to allow extraction of sand and gravel on tracts of land generally located north of the 900 block Southside Drive and west of the 1100 block South Monroe Street. Mr. Daniel Roadruck, representative of Vulcan Materials Company, was present and spoke for the petition stating the request to amend the ordinance to mine gravel in the subject area. Vulcan was granted permission to mine a year ago but the City of Decatur wants that particular area for a sludge lagoon. Vulcan is requesting permission to mine another area, therefore, the petition is submitted to allow mining and expand the operation to the west with the 200 foot setback reduced to 50 feet. Mr. Roadruck stated that there was an error in the legal description for the area where the lagoon is located so that part of the petition is withdrawn at this time. The request for today is to revise the site plan and reduce the west setback. The office • will be relocated and timing is of the utmost importance. Mr.
