, -
page 12 - Decatur City Plan Commiaeion - 6/4/87
Mr. Bertram eapreesed concern that it is an experimental procesa
and if something ahould happen after six months we would have a
piece of property zoned M-2 that we have no opportunity to
review. What does it mean to the future, in queation what about
the poseibility of seeking a special uee permit and leaving that
ezisting zoning and don't destroy M-2, M-1, R-6 atructure out
there now.
Mr. McQueen stated it could be pursued relative to commodity
ecrap procesaing but not as an availability to the experimental
operation, euch uae is not provided for in apecial uee
clasaiPication. Based on what the ordinance provides norv no
provision is made for fertilizer manufacturing or in the M-1
Zone.
Mr. Flick asked if the intent of the procesa is experimental and
ultimately moved to the landfill then why not a special uae
permit to accommodae the proect.
Mr. Al11ng etated his client rrould rather have the M-1 with a
special permit but you can't get that. He also atated there ie
control under M-2 not under M-1.
Mr. Couter atated that under M-2 zone arything that does not
conatitute a legal nuieance ia allowable with the provision that
certain epecified uses listed there require approval by the City
Council and thoae cover a wide spectrum oP thinga coneidered not
a nuisance. There may be some uses go in there but moat would
have to come back to the Council and be approved.
It wae moved and seconded (Johnson/Tick) and approved that Cal.
No. 87-20 be recommended to City Council for approval. Six
members voed to approve the motion with David Bertram and Robert
Flick voting N0.
Cal. No. 87-21 Petition of ROBERT G. KRIIIEL to rezone certain
tracte of land generally located North of East
Pershing Road and West of 3300-3500 block of
North Charlee Street Prom R-1 Single Family
Residence District and M-1 Light Induetrial
Dietrict to PMR-1 Park Mobile Home Reeidence
Dietrict.
Mr. Robert G. Rrimmel, Coneulting Engineer for Tandem
Development, 1800 Blue Ridge Blvd. , Ransas City, Miaeouri spoke
on behalF of Decatur MHP Associates, owners of Park City Mobile
Home Park. The petitioner would like to eapand the mobile home
park and develop the area. The owners have agreed to clean up
the zoning map and include the maor portion of the park in their
request. Paul Gunderson is here to anewer any questiona.
Mr. Goatley asked what ie the induetrial zoning tract now.
