' Chapter 43 <br /> the National Fire Protection Association as N.F.P.A. No. 329 , <br /> 1977 . Transfer of flammable or combustible liquids shall be <br />' made into such a tank only when the same has been certified by <br /> said Department to have been properly and successfully tested <br /> on a date within three ( 3 ) years of the delivery of said tank <br /> from the manufacturer. No such transfer shall be made into a <br /> tank which has been found defective and is so posted by said <br /> Department . If the owner or operator of such a tank is <br /> notified that the same is defective, said owner or operator <br /> shall without delay cause the tank to be voided of liquid and <br /> shall cease use and operation of the same until the same is <br /> made non-defective . The failure to repair a defective tank <br /> within ninety ( 90 ) days from such notification shall constitute <br /> an abandonment thereof , and such abandoned tanks are hereby <br /> declared nuisances and may be abated as such. Fuel oil tanks <br /> for supplying oil burning heating equipment not exceeding 660 <br /> gallons may be exempted from the testing procedure as herein <br /> specif ied. <br /> 19 . Permission shall be obtained from the fire official <br /> to remove , abandon , place "temporarily out of service" , or <br /> otherwise dispose of any flammable or combustible liquid tank. <br /> Tanks "temporarily out of service" shall have the fuel lines , <br /> gauge opening and pump connection secured against tampering. <br /> Vent lines shall remain oper. and be maintained in accordance <br /> with the requirements of the Fire Prevention Code for vent <br /> lines . Any tank not used for a period of ninety ( 90 ) days <br />
