5-5. Employees in the fire service required to attend mandatory <br /> school at times in addition to service on their regular shift <br /> shall be considered on duty during the actual time said school is <br /> in session and shall be paid for such duty time at the regular <br /> hourly rate of pay. This provision shall not apply to voluntary <br /> schools or training or to school or training required for a <br /> program of certification as a fire fighter, advanced or senior <br /> fire fighter, officer or the like. <br /> 5-6. If a f iref ighter serves as a company of f icer due to the <br /> temporary absence of an officer, he shall receive a 5 percent pay <br /> increment for all time so served to a maximum of 2 hours. A Cap- <br /> tion serving as Battalion Chief due to the temporary absence of <br /> the Battalion Chief shall receive a 5 percent pay increment for <br /> all time so served. <br /> (AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 86-75, September 15, 1986) <br /> CHAPTER 6 <br /> OVERTIME <br /> DIVISION l. <br /> 6-1-1. Authorized overtime served by those full-time employees <br /> of the general service paid on an hourly basis shall be paid at <br /> the rate of one and one half times the respective employee's <br /> regular hourly rate of pay. <br /> 6-1-2 . Authorized overtime served by those full-time employees <br /> of the general service that are paid on an other than hourly <br /> basis, except for those positions exempted from overtime by the <br /> City Manager and except for those positions designated by the <br /> City Manager as Division Heads, shall be paid overtime at the <br /> rate of one and one half times such employee's hourly rate of pay <br /> based on a 40 hour duty week. <br /> 6-1-3 . An employee in the general service recalled to duty, as <br /> distinguished from an employee held over beyond the quitting time <br /> of his regular shift, shall receive overtime pay for the time ac- <br /> tually served but for not less than a minimum of two hours; <br /> provided, however, that such two hour minimum shall not apply if <br /> the time said employee is to report for recall duty is within one <br /> hour or less of the commencing time of such employee's regular <br /> shift. <br /> DIVISION 2 . <br /> 6-2-1. Authorized overtime served by employees in the police <br /> service in positions below the position of police Lieutenant <br /> shall be paid at the rate of one and one half times the respec- <br /> tive regular hourly rate of pay of such employee, provided: <br />
