- 5 - <br /> Section 19 . It shall be unlawful to make electrical <br /> installations or alterations in the City without causing the <br /> same to be inspected and approved b� the Inspection Division. <br /> Those making electrical installations or alterations shall give <br /> such timely notice requesting �spection as said Division <br /> shall require for each inspection to be made. Not less than the <br /> following three enumerated inspections are each of them, required: <br /> a. Rough in, an initial inspection when the work <br /> is completely roughed in and before any work is covered; <br /> b. Interim, an inspection after all electrical <br /> equipment, appliances and devices have been electrically <br /> connected; and, <br /> c. Final , an inspection when all electrical systems <br /> are completed and no further work is required. <br /> In the event that any defect is found in the work, or any part <br /> thereof has been enclosed, or if for any other reason the work <br /> is not ready for inspection so that the inspector must return <br /> for a further inspection at any stage of the work, request for <br /> such reinspection shall be accompanied by the payment of a fee <br /> of $10. 00 for each reinspection. The same three inspections <br /> as set out herein shall be made when extensive rewiring is done <br /> in existing structures. All electrical work shall be finally <br /> inspected and approved before the Certificate of Occupancy is <br /> eligible for issuance. Application for such Certificate shall <br /> be made by the owner or builder, as the case may be after being <br /> advised that the electrical work is completed and ready for <br /> final electrical inspection. In the event the electrical work <br /> is not completed or fails to conform with the provisions of <br /> this code, a reinspection permit shall be obtained and the work <br /> completed or corrected, and Certificate of Occupancy withheld <br /> until on reinspection or subsequent reinspection such work is <br /> found to so conform. <br /> Section 20. The utility company may connect the electrical <br /> service to the structure when the service is installed permanently <br /> on the structure and upon order of the Inspection Division. <br /> When the service is connected to the structure , only code conforming <br /> circuits shall be activated. All circuits activated at this time <br /> shall be considered construction circuits and shall be protected <br /> by ground fault interruptor breakers . The driven ground shall <br /> be installed and the service distribution panel or panel covers <br /> shall be installed. The service connection at this time will not delete <br /> the rough-in inspection as required in Section 19 , but only <br /> shifts the sequence of inspections. <br />
