. � .�,'� . mit the same to be connected in such manner as to prevent the escape of liquid other than into the tank being filled, and also in such manner that the flowage of liquid will automatically cease when the tank being filled is filled to 99.25� of its capacity. No delivery or transfer of Class I or II flammable liquid into the tanks of marketing or service station shall be aade except throu gh such connection as required hereby. No tank or caoi- partment uf a transporting aehicle, or any storage tank or compartment shall be filed with Class I or II flammable liquid in excess of 99.259b of the capa- city thereof. During the making and breaking of cc�nnections, the motors of delivering vehicles shall be sh�at dov�. 10. Undergronnd flaamable liquid storage tanks shall be so maintained so as to sustain a pressure of not less than 5 pounds per square inch of either hydrostatic or air pressure upon the testing thereof. The owner, or operator, of each such tank shall cause the same to be tested at least once every three years in the presence of a representative of the Fire Depaxtment of the City and under the supervision thereof. The testing procedure to be followed is that a�iich is provided for in the Recommended Practice On Under- ground Leakage Of Flammable and Combustible Liquids promulgated and published � in the National Fire Oodes of the National Fire Protection Association as ', N.F.P,A. No. 329. 1Yansfer of flamnable liquid sha11 be made into such a tank �, only wd�en the same has been certified by said Department to have been properly II and successfully tested on a date �ithin three yeaxs of the date of delivery. � No such transfer shall be made into a tank which has been found defective and is so posted by said Department. If tY�e owr�er, or operator, of such a tank is notified that the sa�e is defective said ownex, or operator, shall without de- lay cause the tank to be voided of liquid and sha11 cease use and operation of the same until the same is made non-defective. Such a defective tank if not repaired arithin 9� days from such notification shall constitute an abandonment the r eof. 11. No underground flammable liquid storage tank shall be maintained as "temporarily out of ser�ice" for a continueus period of more than 90 days ex- cept upon application to the Fire Department and the extension of said period thereby which extension shall in no event e xtend said original period longer than one additional period of 90 days. 12. After the effective date of this provision, no underground flammable liquid storage tank shall be abandoned in place within the City. After said date all such tanks shall within 90 days after the use or operation thereof is terminated, subject to the provisions of sectiAn 11 of this Chapter, shall be removed as provided by Appendix B of said Fire Prevention Oode. 13, An undergxound flammable liquid storage tank aban�ned in place be- fore the effective date of this provision which has heretofore been voided oP all flamffiable liquid and fumes; had all suction, inlet, gauge and vent lines disconnected and all remaini.ng underground piping capped; and said tank filled completely with an inert solid material may remain in place. Any such tank abandoned in place before said date but not so voided, said lines or piping discannected and capped, or not so filled completely with inert solid matexial shall be caused to be removed by the ov�aie r of the premises �ereon the same exists in the nanner provided in said Appendix B, within 60 days after the gi�-
