Electrical equipment shall not be <br /> covered or enclosed until authorized by the Inspection <br /> Division after inspection anc3 approval of the work completed <br /> at the time of such inspectio n and no current shall be <br /> supplie d until authorized by the Inspection Division after <br /> inspection and approval of the work completed to the time of <br /> such inspection, provided however, that temporary permits <br /> for the use of current may be gYanted by the Inspection <br /> Division from time to time for good cause shown. <br /> * � �t <br /> "Section 24. When electrical conductors are in- <br /> stalle d in basements or garages, whether attache d or un- <br /> attached, of residential structures, said conductors shall <br /> be placed in approved metal conduit or metal raceways, un- <br /> less said conductors are to be concealed behind and protec- <br /> ted by approved wall or ceiling covering, or the same do not <br /> e xtend more than 3 feet into such basement. All newly in- <br /> stalled service entrance conductors, whethe r installed dur- <br /> ing construction of a new structure or installed in an exist- <br /> ing structure, shall be placed in approved rigid metal con- <br /> duit. Except as provided in this section, approved non- <br /> metallic sheathed cable may be used in single family resi- <br /> dence structures. The con ductor mu�t be protected by meta I <br /> conduit as requiYed by Art. 33.6 (b), Art. 347, Art. 348 and <br /> Art. 350 of the National Electrical Code. <br /> � * � <br /> "Section 35. Outdoor signs shall be contr olled by an <br /> externally operated switch so designed that the same may be <br /> locked in an open position and all external wires on such <br /> signs and billboards shall be enclosed in approved metal con- <br /> duit, with all transformers being either weatherproof or en- <br /> closed in the sign body or a separate metal box. Gas or <br /> electric furnaces shall have a disconnect switch on or adja- <br /> cent to the furnace. All rooftop heating and/or air condi- <br /> tioning units shall have a 110 volt convenience outlet at the <br /> unit. If more than one unit is installed on a roof, only one con- <br /> venience outlet will be required if the units are reasonably <br /> close to each other . <br /> � � a� <br /> I <br />
