Electrical equipment shall not be covered or enclosed until authorized by the Inspection Division after inspection anc3 approval of the work completed at the time of such inspectio n and no current shall be supplie d until authorized by the Inspection Division after inspection and approval of the work completed to the time of such inspection, provided however, that temporary permits for the use of current may be gYanted by the Inspection Division from time to time for good cause shown. * � �t "Section 24. When electrical conductors are in- stalle d in basements or garages, whether attache d or un- attached, of residential structures, said conductors shall be placed in approved metal conduit or metal raceways, un- less said conductors are to be concealed behind and protec- ted by approved wall or ceiling covering, or the same do not e xtend more than 3 feet into such basement. All newly in- stalled service entrance conductors, whethe r installed dur- ing construction of a new structure or installed in an exist- ing structure, shall be placed in approved rigid metal con- duit. Except as provided in this section, approved non- metallic sheathed cable may be used in single family resi- dence structures. Outdoor signs shall be contr olled by an externally operated switch so designed that the same may be locked in an open position and all external wires on such signs and billboards shall be enclosed in approved metal con- duit, with all transformers being either weatherproof or en- closed in the sign body or a separate metal box. Gas or electric furnaces shall have a disconnect switch on or adja- cent to the furnace. All rooftop heating and/or air condi- tioning units shall have a 110 volt convenience outlet at the unit. If more than one unit is installed on a roof, only one con- venience outlet will be required if the units are reasonably close to each other . � � a� I
