All buildings and stractures, and all additions to existing build- ings and structures, hereafter constructed within the fire district linits shall be of BOCA Code construct ion defined in Article 2, and regulated by table 5 thereof, as firep�c�of (Type 1), protected non-combustible (Types 2A and 2B), heavy timber (Type 3A) cr ordinary protected (Type 3B), and shall be constructed within the height and area linitations of table 6, except as provided otherwise in this Chapter. � 8. Buildin� ��d structures and additions to existing buildings and structures may be hereafter constructed in said limit� of BOCA Code construc- tion types, wzprotected non-combustible (Type 2C), ordinary unprotected (Type 3C) or protected frame (Z�pe 4A), as defined and regulated as afore�aid, when the same are constructed �►nd loc ated in accordance with one of the follow- inq deacribed methods, or a acxnbiaatioa,thereof apg>roved by the Building Offi- ci.als a. Method 1 - Open 9pace Separation - The building, structure or addition thereto shall be so located as to provide a ffiinimum thirty-foot fire separation adjacent to every part of all e�cterior walls. b. Method 2 - Fire Wall Separation - The bnilding, stxucture or addit ion thereto shall have a roof covering of at least a Class B fire rating, and shall be so located and constructed that every exterior wall adjacent to a fire separation of th�ee feet or less shall be a non-combustible fire wall, or shall be protected by a non-combustible fire wall, either of them having a fire resistance Yating of at least four hours. I c,.
