-2- <br /> (e) "Ambulance attendant or attendant" means a trained and <br /> qualified indivudal responsible for the interim care of the patient at <br /> the scene of the emergency and duYing transit. <br /> (f) "Patient" means an individual who is or has been sick, in- II <br /> jured, wounded, ox otherwise incapacitated or helpless at the time of the I' <br /> dispatch of the ambulance. <br /> {g) "Person" means any individual, firm, partnexship, corporation, <br /> association or other legal entity. <br /> (h) "Hospital" means any institution, place, building, or agency, <br /> public or private, �iether organized for proEit or not, devoted primarily <br /> to the maintenance and operation of facilities for the diagnosis and treat- <br /> ment or care of persons admitted for overnight stay or longer in order to <br /> obtain medical care of illness, disease, injury, infirmity, or deformity <br /> r� rt <br /> and sub 'ect to licensin under the Illinois Hos ital Licensin Ac <br /> J 9 P 9 t , <br /> appxoved July I, 1953, as amended. <br /> (i) "Certificate of Safety; Second Division Vehicle; Official <br /> Testing Station; Safety Devices and Appliances" shall have the same mean- <br /> ing as that ascribed to said terns by the ap�licable provisions of the <br /> Illinois Vehicle Code in force from time to time. <br /> 2. No person either as owner, agent or otherwise shall. furnish, <br /> operate, conduct, maintain, advertise, or otherwise be engaged in or hold <br /> himself out to be engaged in the operation of an ambulance or invalid <br /> coach service in the City unless he holds a valid cuYrent license issued <br /> undeY this Chapter for such respective service, except that in the case <br /> of a major catastrophe in which the number of ambulances operated by the <br /> licensees in the City are insufficient to render required services, vehicles <br /> operated by other person� may be used to render A�i�I.�A�E service. No <br /> vehicle shall bear ambulance i�entification insignias and flashing lights <br />
