<br /> hereinafter called the "Contractor," and CITY OF DECATUR, Ma n County, Illinois,
<br /> hereinafter called the "Owner,"
<br /> WITNESSETH, That the Contractor and the Owner for the consideration stated herein agree
<br /> as fotlows;
<br /> ARTICLE I. SCOPE OF WORK - The Contractor shall perform everything required to be
<br /> performed and shali provide and furnish all of the labor, materials, necessary tools,
<br /> expendable equipment, and a11 utility and transportation services required to perform
<br /> and complete in a workmanlike manner all the work required in connection with the
<br /> construction of the
<br /> WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS - DIVISION E - NE4! WATER TREATMENT PLANT
<br /> CITY PROJECT N0. 5-72
<br /> of the Owner, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications, including any
<br /> and all addenda prepared by Warren &� Van Praag, Inc. , Consulting Engineers, acting fo�-
<br /> the Owner, and in these contract documents referred to as the Architect-Engineer, which
<br /> plans and specifications are made a part of this contract; and in strict compliance
<br /> with the Contractor's proposal and the other contract documents herein mentioned which
<br /> are a part of this contract; and the Contractor shal ) do everything required by this
<br /> contract and the other documents consfiituting a part thereof.
<br /> ARTICLE II� THE CONTRACT PRICE - The Owner shall pay to the Contractor for the per-
<br /> formance of this contract, subject to any additions or deductions provided therein, in
<br /> current funds, the contract price computed as follows;

<br /> ing the sludge bed area, of all trees, unreserved buildings,
<br /> • vegetation, rubbish, foundations, fences and other obstruc-
<br /> tions, and the grubbing of tree stumps and other below
<br /> ground deteterious matter, to the limits specified for the
<br /> lump sum of '$ 100,000,00
<br /> E-2 244,400 cubic yards, more or less, of earth excavation for
<br /> lagoons, roadway, general grading, including stripping and
<br /> removai of unsuitable materials (except that included in
<br /> Item E-3, special earth excavation for structures of unsuit-
<br /> able or deleterious material) for the unit price per cubic
<br /> yard of $1 .00 244,400.00
<br /> E-3 3,000 cubic yards, more or less, of earth excavation (Special)
<br /> for structures of unsuitable or deleterious material lying
<br /> beneath the granular fill earth subgrade or the granular sub- '
<br /> base earth subgrade for the unit price per cubic yard of $2.00 6,000.00
<br /> Section 2 - Raw Water Intake & Pipeline
<br /> E-�+ For the constr•uction of the two (2) intake cribs in Lake Deca-
<br /> tur, including sheet piling, excavation, reinforced concrete,
<br /> grating, log collar, and other appurtenant items, complete in
<br /> place as specified for the lump sum of 50,000.00
<br /> E'S 1500 lineal feet, more or less: of thirty-six (3�) inch ;e�n-
<br /> forced concrete pipe, from raH� water pu;nping station to intake
<br /> cribs including all fittings and bedding, complete in place as
