� Detailed Contract Paragraph 1 - (a) The Engineer shall make the necessary <br /> ' Plans, Specifi- detailed surveys and the necessary detailed plans, specifica- <br /> cations and tions and estimates of cost on the said Proposed Improvements. <br /> Estimates The said detailed plans, specifications and estimates of cost <br /> shall be prepared according to good engineering practices and <br /> accepted standards. Such detailed plans, specifications and <br /> estimates of cost shall be prepared in .such detail as will be <br /> suitable for use in receiving bids and in awarding construction <br /> contracts. <br /> (b) The Engineer shall bear all expenses occasioned by the <br /> preparation of the said detailed contract plans, specifications <br /> and estimates of cost; and shall furnish a11 field engineers, <br /> office engineers and draftsmen in connection with the services <br /> contemplated under the provisions of Paragraph (1) (a) herein. <br /> The engineer shall furnish said City with ten (10) complete <br /> sets of detailed plans for the said contemplated improvements. <br /> Additional sets of plans and specifications sha11 be furnished, <br /> upon request, at the actual cost of preparing and delivering the <br /> same. <br /> The Engineer shall supervise and direct any necessary pre- <br /> liminary test borings of sub-surface explorations which may be <br /> necessary for the proper completion of said detailed plans and <br /> specifications but sha11 not be required to pay the contract <br /> cost of any such contract borings or sub-surface explorations <br /> which ma,y be authorized by the City. <br /> Professional <br /> �ngineering Paragraph 2 - (a) On construction work, the Engineer shall <br /> Supervision establish lines and grades, direct the layout of all work on the <br /> ground, furnish professional engineering supervision of construction <br /> (not including construction superintendence or direction of con- <br /> struction) and shall also furnish consultation on the construction <br /> of the improvements as above named, submit necessary periodic con- <br /> struction estimates and final estimates of cost, and otherwise <br /> faithfully perform the above specified professional engineering <br /> services and such services as are usually and customarily fur- <br /> nished in connection with professional engineering supervision <br /> of construction of such improvements. <br /> (b) Professional engineering supervision of construction <br /> services, as herein defined, shall include assistance to the <br /> City in receiving bids for construction, analyzing bids received <br /> and in awarding construction contracts for the Proposed Improvements. <br /> (c) The Engineer under the provisions of this Paragraph, <br /> shall not be required to furnish commercial, shop, mill or lab- <br /> oratory inspection which may be authorized by the City but such <br /> authorized commercial services (if any) shall be paid for by <br /> the City. <br />
