. i . , u ` � . <br /> �r . . <br /> L � � ' <br /> operation of the pedestrian mall maintenance district shall be paid <br /> for by an annual assessment upon the commercial and business properr,y <br /> within the district, which costs and expenses shall be those that are <br /> necessary, convenient and desirable for the protection and preservation <br /> of said pedestrian mall, and the operation, upkeep, repairs, �eplacement <br /> and maintenance of said pedestrian mall and its componenf pa�ts, fixtures, <br /> equipment and facilities. <br /> 5ECTION V1. The Board of Commissioners shall determine <br /> and estimate the amount of costs and expenses required for said pedestrian <br /> mall maintenance district for any year hereafter, and shall file wi th the <br /> Circuit Court of Macon County, Illinois, a report of said expenses, and <br /> an assessment roll signed and certified to by the Chairman, to obtain any <br /> required funds for said costs and expenses. ' <br /> SECTION VII. The Board of Commissioners sl�all file a <br /> report of said costs and expenses and an assessment roll to obtain any <br /> necessary funds for the maintenance and operation of said pedestrian <br /> mal� maintenance district each year that said funds are required for a <br /> period of ten consecutive years, commencing with the year 1971 and <br /> ending with the year 1980, unless the annual assessments are continued <br /> beyond 1980 by consent of the owners of 66 2/3% of the frontage of private <br /> property within the district, in which event said annual assess�l�nents shall <br /> be continued beyond the year 1980. i <br /> SECTION VIII. Each annual assessment made hereunder <br /> by the Board of Commissioners shall be due and payable on January 2, <br /> in the year succeeding the confirmation of each annual assessment by the <br /> Circuit C �urt. <br />
