Compensation � PARAGRAPH (4) - contd. <br /> (b) - contd. <br /> including: Unemployment, excise, and payroll taxes; and <br /> contributions for social security, employment compensation <br /> insurance, retirement benefits and medical insurance benefits. <br /> The term "Direct Reimbursable Expense: shall include trans- <br /> � portation and subsistences incurred by the Engineer or his <br /> assistants traveling in discharge of duties connected with <br /> the work, and shall include the net cost of incidental <br /> expenses such as telegrams, telephone toll charges, extra re- <br /> productions of prints or photos of drawings, specifications <br /> and other documents required for the proper execution of <br /> the service to be rendered. <br /> (c) Compensation for the services rendered under the provisions <br /> of PARAGRAPH (2) , Sub-Paragraph E shall be due and payable <br /> to the Engineer from time to time during the progress of <br /> construction of said improvements and in amounts propor- <br /> tional to the value of the work performed in the construc- <br /> tion of said project. Final payment for services rendered <br /> under the provisions of PARAGRAPH (2) , Sub-Paragraph E, <br /> shall be due and payable upon the completion of said <br /> improvement. <br /> Compensation PARAGRAPH (5) - <br /> Compensation for SPECIAL ENGINEERING SERUICES defined in PARAGRAPH (2) , <br /> Sub-Paragraph F, shall be as follows: <br /> When instructed by the City to furnish such special services <br /> the compensation due the Engineer for services rendered under <br /> the provisions of PARAGRAPH (2) � Sub-Paragraph F shall be <br /> "payroll-cost" defined as hereinbefore, plus One-Hundred Percent <br /> (100%) for overhead and profit, plus "Direct Reimbursable <br /> Expense", defined as hereinbefore, at net cost. Compensation <br /> earned under the provisions of PARAGRAPH (2) , Sub-Paragraph F <br /> shall be paid quarterly upon submission by the Engineer of <br /> invoices detailing the cost and expense incurred. <br /> Abandonment PARAGRAPH (6) - <br /> of Work <br /> It is hereby understood and agreed that should the City abandon the <br /> improvements for reasons beyond its control , and on which it has <br /> ordered detailed plans, specifications and estimates or shall be <br /> compelled to terminate any other work before the completion theeof <br /> at a point where the amount of the fees due the Engineer cannot be <br /> determined on a percentage basis, in accordance with the provisions <br /> of the foregoing paragrahs of this Contract, then the Engineer shall <br /> be entitled to and shall receive a reasonable fee for the services <br /> actually rendered on such improvements up to the time the improve- <br /> ments are ordered abandoned and the engineering work thereby discontinued. <br /> -5- <br />
