➢ Provide year-end review on the performance of the group self-insurance plan including <br /> summary of plan costs, costs per plan, benefits paid per type of service, etc and include <br /> discussion of trends of the plans <br /> ➢ Provide as agreed upon periodic financial review of the group self-insurance including <br /> actual vs. budget, aggregate and stop loss review, utilization review, contributions by <br /> employer, employee and retiree, and projected costs <br /> •'• Communications and Assistance <br /> ➢ Attend regular and special meetings (some with as little as 2 days notice) as requested <br /> including City Council Meetings, contract negotiations, and with City staff <br /> ➢ Provide customer service to staff, employees and retirees to resolve provider issues <br /> including billing, claims and vendor service <br /> ➢ Recommend and assist City staff in developing improved communications with <br /> employees and retirees <br /> ➢ Assist or conduct employee educational meetings on benefit coverage and trends <br /> including providing benefit information to employees and retirees <br /> ➢ Assist with regular, open and new employee enrollment process including attending <br /> employee meetings, developing enrollment materials and verifying enrollment accuracy <br /> ❖ Compliance& Resources <br /> ➢ Evaluate and review plan designs to assist and ensure plans are in compliance to state <br /> and federal regulations <br /> ➢ Review and evaluate benefit plan documents, summary plan descriptions, contacts, <br /> required communications to employees and regulatory agencies as requested <br /> ➢ Provide samples of suggested language for required communications to employees and <br /> regulatory agencies <br /> ➢ Conduct periodic meetings and provide materials discussing practical implementation of <br /> the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act and related State of Illinois requirements <br /> ➢ Assist, review and evaluate compliance procedures for other programs such as COBRA <br /> and HIPAA <br /> 2 <br />
